Just Videos

Uploaded recent videos as promised! And for an update, I'm pretty confident I do have the flu which is not fun. Also, I had my monthly appointment yesterday morning and I'm still measuring 2 weeks ahead which I'm assured is normal. I wonder if there is a big baby in there!

1 Year and a Half!!!

I know I say this a lot, but where is the time going? Lake is growing too fast. In the past month he has learned many new words, repeats almost anything, and is still so much fun. I think my favorite word he says is balloon or "ba-yoon". I also love the "mew" for what a cow says. His favorite word to use is "more". When he's not getting his message across saying it he'll quickly sign "more" over and over in which we've had to teach him "all gone" too.

I like to share some of Lake's funny things he does so some of the new ones are:
• He sucks in when I snap his jeans at the top
• He knows how to blow his nose
• He copies shows like the Little Einstein’s (like patting, flapping arms like a bird, raising arms, etc.) so funny

We go for his checkup next week. However, we did go to the doctor today and unfortunately, he has the flu. Type A which is supposed to be the better of the two. So much for the flu shot. I'm hoping it is just a mild case, but I'm getting sick too. Hopefully not the flu too!

I have some more videos to upload so I'll post later this week, but here's one for now from last week. I know listening to me sing is getting old, but he's too cute not to get on video.

My Little Valentine

I'm a little late on posting this week so I'm including in this post some park excitement, Valentine's Day party, and a few pictures on Valentine's Day.

We went to the park last weekend because it was so beautiful. Lake, however, was not content playing on the baby playset and wanted to go where the big kids were. I think he would have gone down the really big slide if we'd let him. We then went to the open field to let him walk around and of course he could care less if Jeff and I were with him. He is not afraid at all needless to say. As we are walking with him away from the dangerous parts he gets mad because that's not the way he wants to go. He sits on the ground and throws his head forward. However, his judgement wasn't too great as he knocked his nose against the ground and came up with a super bloody nose. Here we are, now shirtless, bloody-nosed baby (using to wipe blood), walking to our car. What a scene we must have been.

Ok, on to more fun stuff. Lake had his Valentine's party this past Friday so I took a few pictures and video. Jeff's not quite sure about all of the pink I bought Lake to wear, but I think he looks pretty handsome!

I was sitting with Lake last night and noticed he was in the kitchen and I assumed playing with my shoes. I couldn't see what he was doing, but after a few minutes, I got up and saw that he had shifted about 5 feet, in my shoes, on backwards. Of course I didn't have my camera to take a picture, but he did it again this morning so I got it on video. He is too funny sometimes.

Goodbye to our sweet Great Dane!

Jackson, our sometimes trouble-making, but always sweet dog had to be put to sleep today. We are extremely sad as we’ve had him for almost 10 years. I won't get into all of the details of why we had to put him to sleep, but it was the best option for the poor doggy. I went to the vet to play with him and say goodbye after I found out this morning from the doctor that this was the best course of action. This was more upsetting to me than I had expected it to be, but I guess we knew this would happen at some point. I just wasn't quite prepared today. Jeff went later this afternoon right before the scheduled time and played with him for about an hour. I took a few pictures of our goodbye. We'll miss this silly dog, but I think his best friend, our basset, will miss him the most. She's been whining all day without him in the backyard.
