The belly and the monkey

I decided I needed to take some pictures of being pregnant at some point so I did today. Strangely, I think 23 weeks was the first time I took pictures when I was pregnant with Lake. You can compare below, but I definately feel like my belly is bigger this time.

Also, I took some pictures of Lake playing around this morning is his monkey pajamas. As you can see, he's into everything and trying to perfect his climbing technique.

Headstands

Lake loves to do headstands. He use to do it alot when he first began to stand on his own, but it's really hard to capture on camera. Here is one back from 12 months and then one from today when I was watching the monitor at daycare. I added a random picture that I just thought was cute.

17 Month & 23 Week Update

I'm a few days late on posting for Lake at 17 months. I was going to take some pictures tonight, but he unfortunately got a pretty ugly scrape/bruise by his eye at preschool today. He fell and hit his eye on his cot right before nap time. Anyway, he seems fine, but I hate when he gets hurt.

Some fun things about Lake in the last month besides becoming even more loving is when I'm sitting in the floor with him he'll come and grab my hands and start dancing wanting me to dance with him. It's so adorable. He also starting saying "more" in addition to the sign for more and "mommy" a few times. He also loves to play with Jeff in the floor. Jeff will lay down and Lake will literally dive on top of him. He's at such a fun age.

As for me and Lake's little brother, we had our monthly appointment this morning and everything looks good. I measured 25 weeks instead of 23 weeks which may explain my already discomfort after eating and drinking and having heartburn already! I feel now like I did around 32 weeks with Lake. I might have a long 4 months ahead of me!

Happy 60th Mom!

We celebrated Mom's 60th birthday this past weekend (actual birthday 1/15). She was surprised to see everyone and we had lots of good food!

Kissing & More Dancing

Lake is a pretty affectionate baby and has started to kiss for real more often. Here he is kissing his puppy. Also, uploaded another video of Lake getting down to the Friend's theme.

Notice the static in his hair...too funny

First Plane Ride!

We went to Dallas this past weekend to visit friends and family so Lake had his first plane ride. It was 17 degrees on the way to the airport Saturday morning, but Jeff dropped us off at the door so we didn't freeze!

Lake was pretty good on the flight there. He got antsy a few times, but no screaming and crying or anything like that. Luckily lots of snacks and toys worked except for the time I hit him in the head with the corner of the book :( -- then he was upset obviously. Oh, and so funny...we were sitting on the plane once we boarded and saw my good friend Jigna and her husband who were heading back to Dallas to finish packing since they are back in Atlanta for good for now. We chatted afterwards waiting on our luggage, but it was great to see her. I couldn't write about this weekend and not mention how much I detest Delta and the fact that Lake's carseat did not make it on the plane to Dallas. This was a pain for the next day as when they found it, they were quite difficult with meeting us where we actually were. They did give us a carseat at the airport after saying they didn't think they had one. It was pretty gross, but what do you do?

So on to visit the fam... We headed to Lauren and Corby's house where Lauren's mom and sisters where there with Lindsey's sweet and so cute little girl, Eliana. She's about a month older than Lake. They played a little with Dora's brushes and hairdryer which was pretty funny. I'm so bummed that I didn't get any pictures of them together! Then we were off to meet up with our friends Drew and Kelly who to our surprise, just a got a puppy that day! Oh my goodness, this is the cutest lab ever! Lake was quite excited to see the puppy and they both ran around the yard together. Lake however was not too happy when the puppy wanted to shall we say get friendly on his leg. Puppy claws hurt! Anyway, it was great to hang out with them and visit while we were there. Sunday, we had a great time at Lauren's baby shower for little Harper. We are so looking forward to her arrival and I can't wait for her and our little boy on the way to play together. They'll only be a few months apart so they will be perfect play buddies. It's just too bad we don't live closer!

Anyway, it was a bit of a whirlwind weekend, but we were glad to get to visit with everyone. Lake was so tired on the way back that he slept for the last hour of the flight. He slept through the landing and all! We are still adjusting to being back as Lake decided 4:00 a.m. was a good time to get up this morning! Also, I just found out that little Eliana is pretty sick so we are thinking about her and Lindsey and hope she's better really soon!

As always, I included some pictures. I really didn't take many for some reason and I didn't have my good camera either, but here are a few. All for now!

Plane ride there

So exhausted and way past bedtime. I've never seen him do this before. He ate lying down! Poor baby!

On the way home. We take our flight safety instructions very seriously!

Playing at the park...at least for a few minutes

I thought I'd upload some random recent pictures including our park visit last Saturday. It promptly started to sprinkle, but we kept playing for a few minutes. Lake loved going down the slide, running back to the steps, and back down again.

Halfway!

I'm 20 weeks today which is crazy. Where is the time going? This baby will be here before we know it! I hope everyone had a great start to the new year! I was playing with my new flash for my camera tonight and took some pictures of my sweet baby playing. In the past week, he's becoming more vocal and repeating more things. Some of which he thinks is funny like "no" and "down" when I tell him to sit down when he's acting like a monkey in his chair.

We are really looking forward to this next year and know it will be a great one!

Lake's path of destruction - toys must be everywhere when playing!
