Walking for real now...

Since about last Thursday, Lake's been able to walk across the room. I need to take some better videos of it, but here is one for now. As you can see, he has toys everywhere making it a little of an obstacle course!

Lake and I were on our own to enjoy our Saturday of football yesterday and did we ever!! We played in the yard with the football and snapped a few pictures. Then Lake went to bed while I watched Alabama embarrass the "dawgs"! Here are a few of Lake...

The Zoo!

We went to the zoo today! This was Lake's first time going and seeing all of the fun animals. Many were pretty lazy this morning and Lake was only interested in the moving ones so we'll have to go back another time, but he had fun. Especially at the petting zoo where he got to pet a goat and pig!

He fell asleep on the way there...

Dancing...kind of

We've noticed in the past few weeks that there is one particular song that comes on t.v. that Lake is especially fond of (I think we might watch too many reruns). Notice how his face lights up on the first one. And yes, we "rewound" and played it again for laughs. Oh, you'll notice Lake's new chair too. He loves to get in and out and in and out and in and out...

My Puppy

So Abbi stayed with my Mom for a few months during the summer. We since brought her back on Lake's birthday so ever since he's had a new toy to play with! Glad labs are mild-mannered dogs...

First Day Taking Steps

This is his first day walking on September 7th. He's getting much more steady now, but I need to get a new video. He's up to about 6 steps as of today and getting way too brave! He's not a good judge of his abilities just yet and is very daring. I'm afraid he's going to do a face plant into a wall soon!

Walking?

So I'm finally getting around to sharing my blog with family and friends. As you can see, I tried to start this in July. We don't live close to any family and most of our friends so this will be a good way for those that want to keep up on Lake's latest and greatest. I'll try keep up-to-date with posting.

So two weeks ago, Lake started standing up on his own from squatting without any help. We were so proud as we are of all the little accomplishments. However, we were up in his room this past Sunday. I was putting clothes that don't fit anymore away and Lake was playing. He was walking holding onto the wall and I was just far away enough that he couldn't grab me. I look up and then see him take a step (no hands!) to grab me! I yelled at Jeff who could hear me through the monitor that he took his first step! Jeff and I quickly then started trying to get him to do it again from him to me. He made it 3 steps until he crumbled! Ahhh, the joys of parenthood :) So as of today, Lake has made it about 5 steps and is getting more steady, although he still looks drunk when he walks. Will try to post a video soon. So much fun....
