Halloween Part 2 - Trick or Treat

Well, we didn't really trick or treat. We just took a stroll around the neighborhood with friends. Still the cutest elephant ever.

Halloween Part 1 - Party

We had Lake's Halloween party at preschool this morning and the babies were pretty funny. I must say, Lake makes the cutest elephant!

I haven't taken pictures in a while so I thought I'd post a few from today.

And 2 more makes 10!!!

We noticed last Wednesday that Lake's molar on his left bottom side had partially come in and now is through. As with the rest of his teeth, they are coming in in two's! His other side started to cut through today. Hopefully, it will come through fast!

The Boys' Weekend

I just got home today from being away from Lake for the first time since he was born! I flew to surprise my Dad along with my brother and sister for his 60th birthday! Happy Birthday today Dad! Anyway, I originally was going to bring Lake with me, but we both had a cold last week and I decided that maybe he and Jeff should have a father-son weekend.

Jeff said they had a great time and that he was very sad it had ended. I'm glad to be back though as I missed Lake so much too. However, I'm not sure Lake knew I was even gone :) I went to pick him up on my way back from the airport anticipating his big grin when I walked through the door. Mind you, this is what he does every day when I pick him up. However, today, as I was about to walk in the door, one of the teachers was coming out and told me Lake was upset because he had just grabbed the whole pack of graham crackers off the counter and when they took them away, he burst into tears. So I walk in and sure enough, he's in tears, not excited to see me, but upset someone took the crackers away! Little stinker... Anyway, we had fun the rest of the night and I'm glad to be back.

Although, I think I'm going to have to try to do this again at some point for Jeff. I think the boys really enjoyed themselves without the mommy home!

My silly boy and his latest

Lake is so silly now. He giggles at everything and everything is so funny to him. He gives everyone big smiles and loves to flirt with the ladies. He is so much fun. He has his favorite little places now in the floor that he plops down and sits. Usually beside his chair against our chairs. I go into his room in the mornings and he starts clapping or makes a happy squeal and darts to the other side of his crib in excitement. He hides his head in the corner like I can't see him. Again, super silly :)

He is still in his separation anxiety stage and is attached to me when I drop him off at preschool. He's fine after I leave, but he loves to be dramatic and roll around in the floor first with his fake crying. You actually can't help but laugh because he was so happy the moment before I put him down.

As I've mentioned before, Lake isn't a talker yet, but he jabbers all of the time and has been saying Mama for the longest. He has started some new things recently though. This is what I can tell that he knows:

Consistent words
1. Mama: knows it is me, but says it alot whenever too.
2. Uh-oh: actually uses this one appropriately

New this week:
3. Da-da: just started this this week - finally, right Jeff? However, this is usually dada, daga, gada, or gaga. We know he's trying to get it right though.
4. Bye bye: repeated this once
5. Dog: he's said this a couple of times. hard to make it out sometimes, but it was clear a few that he said it. He's known "where's the dog" for the longest and will look for her.
6. Duck: maybe? he has this book with buttons that says the word for the picture. He hit the word duck repeatedly like 15 times and I swear he said duck like twice.
7. ball: another maybe, but we we're playing with the ball and tried to get him to say it and he screamed "ba" really loud.

Bottom line: I know he understands things, he just doesn't care to repeat on demand :) He is starting to mimic more as well.

Did I mention, he is a dancing machine? Seriously, will dance to anything and everything. His toys that play music like the piggy and the singing frog to commercials. Even in the car he'll move his shoulders if I start to. It's so funny! I'll have to get more videos soon of that.

Other little things about Lake:
1. He still does headstands (started about 5 weeks ago I guess) - will post pictures when I can get another on camera
2. Loves putting things on heads - mine, the stuff animal, his - we play this game alot
3. Loves taking things out of the toy box and putting them back into the toy box. This really goes for anything that he can put stuff in.
4. Is a big fan of peek-a-boo still
5. Gets so mad if we won't give him any food that we are eating. His little fingers will just be trying their hardest to get what is on our plates. Much like when we have a computer in our laps...you see a little hand come around trying to press the keys!
6. Thinks it's so hilarious to let the water he just drank run down his chin and soak his outfit. Not a fun game for Mommy. He knows exactly what he is doing because when he's thirsty, he'll drink the entire sippy!

Again, he's so much fun and the sweetest! He's a very loving baby!

Trouble

I thought I'd share some of Lake's mischievous moments. Can I lock him in a padded room until he's older?

I'm not sure what face this is, but it made me laugh

Climbed on top of this car garage which he usually takes completely apart.

See the nice black eye? Mysterious injury from preschool. Went to nap fine, woke up with a red mark that turned into an awful looking black eye. Here it had turned to green from purple
