Happy FIRST Birthday Maddox!

Maddox just officially turned 1 at 10:28pm! I have many posts to catch up on including his birthday, but for now, I'll leave you with a picture. As I was typing this earlier, Maddox started crying because...on his first birthday, he got 2 unwelcomed presents... double ear infection. He's pretty much had an ear infection for the last 2 months. Yes, we've been ENT'ed at this point. Tubes are inevitable.

BUT, let this not spoil our birthday fun! We still had cake! This picture is from last weekend from his official birthday party. The polka dot bib is like body armor...nothing was getting on his outfit with that thing!

I'm going to have premature gray hair!

being the mom of little boys is going to do me in! It starts with the dreaded preschool number showing up on my phone. It's Maddox, he's fallen and hit his mouth and his gum looks bruised. He seems ok they say, but there was some bleeding. So I don't panic since it doesn't sound too awful because it sounded like it was his gums only, but I tell them I'll call the dentist to be sure and come check on him in about 30 minutes. So I call the dentist and they definitely want to see him! ...not going to lie, a little panic started to set in then. Then I get Maddox and it does look like the tooth was hit. Not to make the story any longer, he basically did the same thing that Lake did back in November, just this time the tooth was pushed up instead of back like Lake's. X-rays showed nothing broken, but he could have the discoloring, etc. like Lake. The good news is that teeth that haven't been in the mouth for a few years seem to bounce back with no signs so let's hope for that. She did say he could have hit his permanent tooth when he did it which could make a mark, but that's probably not likely. By the way, the preschool checked their cameras to see exactly how it happened it and he was bouncing holding onto a shelf and fell and hit the shelf with his tooth on the way down.

like I said, gray hair people...

Other than some swelling and bruising, he's acting like nothing happened! I'm thankful in the end it was all minor!

and now for a picture pre-tooth (it was his upper left that he hit)...

taken by my fabulous friend, Lori... many more to share later
