19 Months

Again, I'm a little late. Lake turned 19 months on Monday. He's still learning new things everyday and saying more things everytime we turn around. He's so much fun to play with and loves to be silly. He is especially sweet when he's tired. Jeff and I both really enjoy hanging out with him before he goes down for the night. He loves to sit beside you in the chair now all tucked in between and lay his head on you. He'll still let me rock him and lay his head on my shoulder which I love. I just wish he wouldn't wake up everytime I lay him down! Jeff is much better at doing this without Lake waking up. Anyway, I think we're in for it for a little while now. One of his canine/eye teeth has just broken through in the past two days and I think by far this has been the most painful. One down, three to go...sigh.

31 Weeks

I had my appointment today and am measuring back to normal (31 weeks). The baby kicked the heart rate monitor each time the doctor would put it on my stomach. It was pretty funny because he kicked exactly where it was placed two different times. I'm down to two week appointments now. I guess the countdown is on!

Lake had a big day today as well. He started his new classroom at school. Luckily, most of the babies are the ones he was with for a long time. He will just have to get used to his teachers now. I stayed with him for a while and he played, but as soon as I stood up, he ran over and grabbed my legs and starting pouring tears. Luckily, when I walk out of the room he bounces back quickly. Still, that little sad face is so adorable it's hard not to scoop him up!

Winks, Kisses, and Baby...oh my!

Lake is such a silly little boy lately. He has a lot of fun, but has also started becoming more independent and stubborn. That's part of this phase I guess. Oh, and of course, the first real day of shorts weather on Sunday and Lake scrapes his knee. The first of many I'm sure, but I hate it! I've attached videos of him blowing kisses and winking below.

Also, we're very excited today awaiting baby Harper's arrival. I have two nephews and a niece on my side and then Harper on Jeff's side. My sister-in-law Lauren was induced this morning so we are wishing them all the best! Wish we could be there in Dallas to greet her!

3D Pictures!!!

We had our 3D ultrasound today and it was so great to see the baby! While I have no idea who he will look like, I do think he has Lake's nose (i.e., mine). He was moving all around and yawning and trying to put his foot in his mouth. So sweet...

Arm and hand by face

That's his foot by his nose

Yawning and foot by nose

chubby hand

That's his foot at his head. He was trying so hard to find his mouth to put it in.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday Jeff! We love you!

I was trying to get Lake to blow kisses for Daddy on video, but that was a lost cause so I settled for moo.

Our low key birthday celebration!

18 Month Stats

Well, we had our check-up today. I guess since Lake just went to the doctor last week he remembered not liking it because he started crying as soon as I walked into the room. Luckily, I got him playing and laughing, but that was all for nothing when the doctor came in. I guess lunchtime, naptime, and doctor don't mix well!

Anyway, he's doing great!

Height: 33" (74%) - Yea! Maybe he has a chance at being tall!
Weight: 30 lbs (92%) - this was with diaper only...still hefty. I told him today that Mommy can only carry so much weight with him and the baby on board! He wanted to be held almost the whole time we were there!
Head: 19.5 (90%)

Snow 2009

I was completely unaware that there was a possibility of snow today so it was a nice surprise. It came down pretty heavy for a while. We took Lake out after his nap to check it out. He screamed when we made him go back inside. We've been cooped up with all of the rain the last few days!
