Happy 9 months sweet baby!

This Month:
1. 2/14: Can go from all fours to sitting
2. 2/16: Starting doing this inchworm type move to get to places and has since turned into the Army crawl.
3. 2/26: Started crawling
4. 2/28: Started pulling up to play on knees

Checkup:
Height - 28 1/2 (55%)
Weight - 19lb, 11oz (45%) -- Lake was 23.6 at 9 months...what a chub he was!
Head - 18 1/4 (75%)

I was inspired to take naked 9 month pictures...

Maddox actually started crawling for the first time during our little photo session. I guess his clothes had been inhibiting him!!

Two and a half years ago...

you were brought into our lives. Every time we think it can't get any better than today, tomorrow you change our minds again. We've loved every stage and everything it brings. I've loved the "terrible" two stage, I have to admit. Mostly because terrible is the last word I would use to describe it. We can have conversations with you now, you come home saying new, funny things everyday, you are so loving to both your Dad and me, but also to your "baby brudder". This past weekend, you were sitting with me and I wasn't paying attention and you just gave me a hug and kiss. It was the sweetest thing. We love you baby and hope you have a wonderful two and half birthday today!

lately you want to hug Maddox non-stop

Some things about you at 2.5:
1. I love the misused/pronounced words you use. To name a few, "jingble" bells, "nummy" for yummy, I love you "snow" much, feetball, Goldpish...
2. Just in the past week, you've started adding a 'y' to everything: stoppy, stucky, applesaucy, firetrucky, kissy, hurty, etc... Not sure why, but it's pretty funny. We are wondering if it's because we call you Lakey a lot now.
3. You are doing so well with the potty. No accidents in a week! No accidents at home in about 3 weeks!
4. Lately you've been saying "it's funny" or "funny mommy" and talking about "scared" a lot.
5. Your favorite movie by far right now is Madagascar 2. I've watched it more times than I can count in the past few days while you haven't felt well.
6. You listen pretty well for a two year old and we don't have to discipline you very often.
7. We are still not sure if you are going to be left or right-handed. You eat solely left-handed, you throw balls right handed, bat left-handed, and I've seen you draw with both!
8. We just bought you a size 8.5 shoe (still extra wide) and it has a little room for you to grow in. You are wearing size 3 and 4t clothes.

the two saddest little words

... "my hurt"...this was Lake last night around 11:30 crying with a 103.3 temp. We just got back from the doctor and he has the flu. It's type A so it could be either seasonal or h1n1. Anyway, let's hope the baby doesn't get or us either for that matter. The best news of course is that this could last 3 more days or SEVEN more days! Poor baby :(

In other news, we went to the circus Monday (my guess is this could likely be the flu culprit) and Lake enjoyed the parts with the animals. And he also moved up classrooms this week. He's not the oldest in his old class, but close to it, but since he's potty trained, they felt he was the most ready to move up. I think it's a bit of an adjustment this time because he made friends in his other class. When I asked him yesterday who his best friend was, he said Alex, a little boy in his old classroom. :( (lots of sad faces today!) I took him by to see Alex though and they have playground time together a lot I think so he'll still get to see him.

Well, think "healthy" thoughts for us...

Fun Snow

We got the fun snow on Friday; about 3 to 4 inches. It was the powdery, snowman building kind and Lake and I had fun playing in it. On our first outing, he refused to put his boots and hat on. Then, he realized he wanted them so he didn't stay out there long without them. He loved kicking it, knocking the snowman over, and having snowball fights with me. We had a great time playing!

owl be your valentine

Ok, typically I'm not a big fan of cutesie phrases, but I couldn't resist the owls. I made Lake's shirt that says "owl be your valentine" and Maddox's that says "whooo do you love?" (same as the tags for the heart rice krispies). I got a little excited since this is really Lake's first Valentine's exchange. Happy Valentine's Day! ...and hopefully I can get some snow pics this afternoon with the snow that's falling now!

February Calendar

Lake's hand-prints calendar

On a Lake note, he wouldn't let me button his pants this morning because I guess they feel too tight. He went to school with unbuttoned pants (because he is already down to just a few pairs), a shirt that's a little too tight, and shoes that are starting to be too tight! I can't seem to keep him in proper fitting clothes right now. I guess I'll be going to buy 4T today!!! And note, he needs 5T underwear as his 4T ones are glued on, but I refuse to buy them right now since he has so many 4T.
